Side Plank Workshop: Three-Part Series

Join me for this three-part workshop series all about Side Plank and Side Plank variations! Come for one or come for all! All sessions will be held at CorePower Yoga-Northeast.

Tuesday, August 13 7:30-8:30pm: Vasisthasana B — Side Plank with an Extended Leg


In the first session we’ll breakdown:

  • General mechanics of Side Plank

  • Ways to best support your weight-bearing arm and wrist

  • Preparatory postures to warm up the extended leg’s hamstrings, inner thighs, and hips

Tuesday, August 20 7:30-8:30pm: Kapinjalasana — Side Plank with a Backbend


For the second round we’ll discuss:

  • Safe set up for a strong Side Plank

  • Accessible ways to use props

  • Ways to warm your spine and hip flexors to add in the backbend

Tuesday, August 27 7:30-8:30pm: Kasyapasana — Side Plank with Half Lotus Leg


For the final session you can expect:

  • Lots of hip, knee, and thigh preparation for lotus legs

  • Drills to strengthen your hip flexors and abdominal core

  • Breakdown of variations to make the posture achievable
